Formally titled: Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
Pope Paul VI empowered lay ministers to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ with those Catholic Christians in the assembly and those who are sick or homebound, so that no one is deprived of the Eucharistic Body of Christ.
Eucharistic Ministers help distribute the Body and Blood of Christ to the “assembly” at all Masses. Those discerning this ministry should be 18 or older, confirmed, and be registered, active members of the parish in good standing with the Catholic Church. Training is provided to all candidates.
